Dimitra Triantafyllou was born in Athens. In 2005 she received her diploma from “Nikos Skalkotas” Concervatory with exceptional grade and first prize as a student of Vasilis Pappas. In 2006 she was accepted to study in the class of Grigory Zhislin at the “Hochschule fur Musik” in Wurzburg with a scholarship of the Greek Government, while at the same time she attended classes in the Master Program of Athens State Conservatory as a student of Apollonas Grammatikopoulos.
In 2001 she won the first prize in the Greek National Student’s Competition of the Greek Government. From 2003 to 2012 was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and from 2007 to 2008 was a member of the Athens State Orchestra. Today, she is the principal of the second violins at the orchestra of the National Opera of Greece. She appeared as soloist with several orchestras as the Athens State Orchestra. She has participated in seminars with Laurentiu Dinca, Sergei Kravtchenko, Vilmos Szabadi, Grigori Zhislin, Herwig Zack, and Mihaela Martin.
She has performed plenty of concerts, such as solo recitals in “Skiathos Festival” and in Summer Academy of Kesthey in Hungary and violin concertos with the Patra Soloists Orchestra, Athens Symphonic Orchestra and the Athens State Orchestra. Lately, she performed the world-premiere of “Micrography” for violin & orchestra by N. Karagiannis with the Athens Youth Symphony Orchestra.
